Service — marking

Marking changes,
staged against real print runs.

The Green Dot symbol may no longer be used on packaging from 12 February 2027, and harmonised marking follows later on dates that depend on acts not yet adopted. We inventory what you print and stage the changes.

Indicative private-service pricing: Amazon Starter €399 in year one · Standard €474/year + €150 setup · scheme contributions and other third-party costs excluded

The outcome

A dated marking plan tied to your artwork

  • An inventory of artwork, symbols and the suppliers who hold the files
  • A staged plan separating what applies now from what applies later
  • Marking decisions versioned alongside the packaging specification

We do not approve artwork; product-labelling law remains with your own advisers

Regulatory basis

One hard date, then a sequence that is not yet fixed

The scheme has stated that its Green Dot licence ends and that the symbol may not be used on packaging from 12 February 2027. Harmonised material labelling and sorting pictograms follow later and depend on implementing acts with their own transition and stock periods.

Where marking goes wrong

Artwork is reprinted twice

Treating a future harmonised label as a current requirement leads to one reprint now and another when the rules are actually fixed.

Nobody knows which files carry the symbol

The symbol usually lives in supplier-held artwork rather than in a marketing asset library.

Language coverage is assumed

Belgium has three official languages, and consumer information is expected in the language of the region where the product is sold.

What's included

Included in the written scope.

  • Artwork and symbol inventory across product lines
  • A staged removal plan mapped to scheduled print runs and existing stock
  • A written separation of current duties from future ones
  • Marking decisions recorded against the packaging specification
How it works

Four controlled steps.

01

Document the facts

Collect the entity, products, channels, contracts and available evidence for packaging marking.

02

Confirm scope and dependencies

Receive a written map of assumptions, exclusions, third parties and points requiring approval.

03

Authorise the agreed work

Private fees, external costs and client responsibilities are confirmed before any submission or commitment.

04

Coordinate and retain evidence

After a valid engagement, each action, external decision and authentic receipt is stored with its date and version.

Frequently asked

Is this a legal opinion on our labels?

No. It is an inventory and a plan. Product-labelling law, including language requirements, stays with your own legal advisers.

Is the harmonised label required now?

No. It applies later and parts of it depend on implementing acts that were not adopted at the review date. We date every statement we make about it.

What exactly changes in February 2027?

The scheme has stated that the Green Dot symbol may no longer be used on packaging from that date. We plan the removal against your print runs.
