The outcome

One traceable packaging file for the Belgian market

  • Packaging responsible, channels and packaging components recorded
  • Membership application, evidence and the chosen declaration method kept together
  • Annual quantities, contribution invoices, payments and filing receipts organised

Fost Plus alone decides admission and issues the membership record

Regulatory basis

Household and industrial packaging are two separate schemes

The interregional cooperation agreement attaches obligations to a defined packaging responsible and splits packaging between an approved household scheme and an approved industrial scheme. A parcel sent to a private individual is treated as household packaging.

Where a Belgian packaging file commonly breaks

One answer is copied across every channel

Marketplace sales, own-webshop sales and deliveries to a Belgian business customer are mapped separately before any conclusion is drawn.

The same box is declared in both schemes

Transport packaging is generally industrial, but the parcel used for a distance sale to a private individual is household. Reading the contract alone leads to paying twice.

Contributions are mixed into the private service fee

The client remains the member and the debtor. The scheme invoices the client directly; our fee and any external cost stay separate.

How it works

Four controlled steps.

01

Collect the entity, products, channels, contracts and available evidence for household packaging EPR.

02

Confirm scope and dependencies

Receive a written map of assumptions, exclusions, third parties and points requiring approval.

03

Authorise the agreed work

Private fees, external costs and client responsibilities are confirmed before any submission or commitment.

04

Coordinate and retain evidence

After a valid engagement, each action, external decision and authentic receipt is stored with its date and version.

Frequently asked

Is there a single Belgian packaging number?

No. Scheme membership and entry in the producer register are different things, and industrial packaging is a separate scheme again. We record each one with its own evidence.

Who pays the packaging contribution?

The client remains the member and the debtor and pays the scheme directly. Our proposal separates private service fees from scheme contributions and other external costs.

Does staying under 300 kg remove every obligation?

No. Below the threshold there is no obligation to join a scheme, but the information obligation and the wider framework still apply. We record the measurement rather than assert an exemption.

Can you guarantee admission or a completion date?

No. We prepare and coordinate the agreed work; the scheme and every other third party retain their own review and timing.
