Who is expected to join

Fost Plus membership is directed at companies that package household products for the Belgian market under their own or a neutral brand, at importers of packaged household products destined for Belgium, and at producers and importers of service packaging.

Below 300 kg of packaging a year, membership is not required. Above it, membership is the ordinary way of discharging the take-back obligation.

The route itself is short

The published route is to register the company details online, sign the contract, and be contacted by the scheme. There is no notarial step and no legalisation in this chain.

The first declaration is filed at the start of the calendar year following membership approval, which means a company joining mid-year does not file immediately.

The identifier question is worth settling in writing

Belgian administrative identifiers are not automatic for a foreign company. A business that is not registered for Belgian VAT and employs nobody under Belgian social security does not normally receive a Belgian enterprise number.

Published scheme material does not settle which identifier a non-established company must supply. That is a question to put to the scheme in writing before relying on a route, and it is one reason the authorised-representative appointment is handled first.

Conclusion

Scope comes before a form. Connect the legal entity, product, sales channel and EPR stream to the rule that actually applies.

Evidence must remain traceable. Keep source data, versions, approvals, filings, receipts and every record issued by an external body.

Third-party decisions are never guaranteed. Approved schemes, public registers, the regulator and marketplaces control their own procedures, timing and decisions.
